Pasarbella

Singapore's own farmer's market - Pasarbella. Those who've not been there, you guys are suckers and missing out. Those who've been, I understand your disappointment of it being SO SMALL.

The first thing that greets you when you enter is a spiraling staircase telling you there are seats, and I guess that's when you should know how Pasarbella works. You browse around, buy whatever you want to eat, bring to a table & feast!

The florist at the side of the entrance is just magical and enchanting, spent a good 20 mins bugging Gerard to buy me something (anything!) from them because they're all so pretty!

The first shop we saw was Huber's Butchery serving gourmet hotdogs but we skipped that because we thought "Nah, so normal... HOTDOGS pft!"

Headed straight for the ribs as the glistening slabs of caramelized pork were literally singing our names. These go by weight, so our half slab was around $17 - pricey and not that fabulous.

Thinking that Huber's gourmet hotdogs were normal was our first mistake. Bypassing them for the ribs was our second. Because good golly were they marvelous!

This is how marvelous they were - that I forgot to snap a picture before eating BUT that my friends, is a joy; to not have to resist food because I have to take a photo #woesofasingaporean

We ordered the spicy pork to share! It came with bacon bits, sauerkraut and lemon butter (???) and was a joy in my mouth.

After the hearty meal, we walked around some more before the case of colourful macarons caught my eye. Bonheur Patisserie is helmed by 1 lady and her 2 helpers, and every thing is hand-baked to perfection! Her shells were crisp yet chewy, and the fillings were exotic flavours like Gula Melaka which weren't toothachingly sweet.

We tried Nutella, Thai Milk Tea & Dark Chocolate first before heading back to buy an entire box of all the flavours cus they were AMAZING. So amazing that I spoke to the owner and waxed lyrical over her bakes hehe ^_^

Got a drink from this stall but the lady didn't look too happy because we were only buying a drink -_- BOO YOU $4.50 IS STILL MONEY.

Walked past a space selling organic produce and the fruits just look very fake as compared to non-organic... And they're so expensive it's okay I'll have non-organic and die a quick death than spend $5.50 on 3 apples that look like plastic hehehe.

Finally ended our trip at the seafood area that looks like a market and ordered the prawns! You choose your raw produce and they'll cook and serve you ^_^

The prawns were served with garlic butter and black pepper sauce but we skipped the black pepper entirely because the garlic butter was totally mindblowing ~~~ Freakishly fragrant and light, we couldn't stop dipping our prawns into it!

The seafood area also served sushi, and I ordered the tuna belly ($2.50) - yes just one because Gerard is a no-go for anything raw and japanese.

While the sushi was memorable, I wasn't exactly crazy over it... but it's worth a try as the seafood are all fresh!

Ended our feast-day-out with a plum sake and you have no idea just how fucking full we were even if we shared everything. I loved the ambience of Pasarbella, but it was just too small and the variety didn't satiate our palates. It's a great place to come with friends though because you can try more things, and I think a trip back is due soon with the girls! Mmmm macarons, I'm coming for you!!!!
